Marla's Tips: Feeling Good

A Healthy Mind and Body

It took many years, but I have finally found the right combination of health practices to help me look and feel my best.

Recently I have been practicing Feldenkrais, and I find it to be gentle and beneficial to my body and nervous system on a deep level. For the past several years, I have been practicing the Egoscue Method of aligning my body, and it really helps me to stay pain-free. Also, my husband and I just purchased a Hydrow rowing machine, which I enjoy using, along with walking and lifting weights a few times each week.

Find the foods that work best for your body and give your body what it wants to thrive. My body likes protein two or three times a day and lots of vegetables. I also do well with eating legumes at least once a day. I do drink coffee but only one or two cups in the morning and none after noon. I have found that my body likes skipping dinner one or two nights a week. This is my form of intermittent fasting. It gives my body time to rest and renew and also keeps my weight in check so I feel healthy and vibrant.

Beauty starts on the inside, and good health is reflected on the outside. I love working with clients who are vibrant and healthy. Let’s face it—clothes just look better on someone who has a sparkle in their eye and a spring in their step!
